McCann Worldgroup

McCann announced this week that it has named Eric Silver as regional chief creative officer for North America. He joins McCann from his own independent agency, Silver+Partners, where he has served as chief creative officer since 2010. This latest announcement follows several key New York-based creative appointments made last year by McCann Worldgroup global creative chairman Rob Reilly, including James Dawson-Hollis, John Mescall and Bill Wright as global executive creative directors. All are focused on developing great creative work for the agency's largest global clients, a responsibility that will now also fall to Silver. Reilly calls Silver a “Badass creative talent,” and feels that with the momentum they are currently experiencing at McCann in New York, “The timing couldn't be better for him to join.”

Silver has previously held top positions as major global networks such as BBDO, Wieden and Kennedy, and TBWA/Chiat/Day and also spent time working as a staff writer on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” so he must have a great sense of humour! He followed his tenure at CBS with a spell at Cliff Freeman and Partners, where he served as creative director for the five years during which it was the most awarded agency in the world during. In addition to being inducted into the AAF Hall of Achievement honouring advertising executives under 40, his work has won every major creative award several times over, including the Grand Prix at Cannes. Silver himself says he has loved “Every minute of the past four years at Amalgamated and then Silver + Partners, with 2014 being the agency's best year by far,” but he “Couldn't be more excited to join McCann.” He has always admired Reilly, and feels that every McCann employee is “So united and driven as to what they want to become,” and that they have created “Tremendous momentum.”
